His father was a US soldier at Clark Airbase, and his mother was a bar girl in Angeles. A former Director of the UST Publishing House, he is an Associate Professor at the UST Faculty of Arts and Letters and a Research Fellow of the UST Research Center for Culture, Arts and the Humanities.
